Pastor: The Rev. Jira Albers
The Reverend Jira Albers came to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in the summer of 2003 and has been a pastor to the Towanda, Pennsylvania area since.
He obtained his Master of Divinity from Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque, IA and holds a Bachelors Degree in Religion and Theatre from Concordia College in Moorhead Minnesota. His religious studies focused on theology, ethics, inter-religious dialogue, and he has taken great care in studying the gospels in particular.
Pastor Jira has also put a lot of time and energy into assisting the poor, and was one of the founders (and is the current President) of Grace Connection Inc., an ecumenical emergency assistance ministry.
He has a passion for revitalizing the liturgy and writing music for the church. You can find him regularly playing the guitar, talking with youth and adults alike, or spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He desires very much that people find hope in the good news of Jesus Christ. He is more than happy to give care and direction to anyone who seeks. You are welcome to a cup of coffee and some conversation.
